new composer
We are happy to work with Masha Koubenski a new young composer in our catalogue. Her first published piece I Shall Love You Until, SATB a cappella is fresh and engaging with an emotional depth belying her tender years. Check the web site for further details.
new cd release
The Canadian Chamber Choir has recently released a stunning choral CD, Sacred Reflections of Canada: A Canadian Mass, that contains two pieces published by Renforth Music. James Fogarty's SSAATTBB a cappella, Ave Maria, and Janis Kalnins' SATB, Our Father in Heaven, receive first class performances. For more information on the CD and the Canadian Chamber Choir please visit www.canadianchamberchoir.ca.
ave verum corpus
Those of you looking for a challenging but beautiful SSATTB a cappella piece will be interested in our latest publication, Ave Verum Corpus by Ben Jisoo Kim. This is the third piece by Ben in our catalogue, the other two being Veni Sancte Spiritus, a lovely SSAATTBB a cappella number and the interesting and challenging Litany: Apotheosis of Pharaoh Pepi II SATB a cappella. You can listen to recordings of these two pieces on the website.
competition success
Matthew Hazzard was recently awarded the grand prize in the 18th Street Singers 10th Anniversary Composition Competition for his piece, 'As Is The Sea Marvelous'. He was also awarded the 2014 William and Eleanor Greatbatch Endowed Choral Composition Prize from Houghton College for his composition, 'Angele Dei', and was a featured composer in the 2015 TUTTI Music Festival at Denison University. Matthew was also a prize winner in a Vancouver Chamber Choir 2010 competition with his work 'The Blue Bird' published by Renforth Music. For more information on this fine composer please check out his bio.
two new pieces by laura silberberg
We have added two new pieces to our Laura Silberberg collection- a beautiful, simple, short Sanctus and an energetic Hosanna with some rhythmic intricacies. Modal in melody and harmony the latter has only one accidental in seven pages! With practice both pieces could be well sung by a good church or community choir although they were commissioned by an auditioned choir.
new work by c. jerome mcfarland
Treble voice choirs will be interested in our new publication Christopher Robin is Saying his Prayers, SSA with piano by C Jerome McFarland. Most people are familiar with AA Milne's words and Jerome has done a fine job of capturing the essence in a simple and effective piece. Suitable for community, high school and college treble voices.
