Renforth Music (SOCAN, ASCAP, CMRRA) is an independent music publishing company in New Brunswick Canada. Formed in 2008 the company publishes primarily choral works by contemporary New Brunswick composers. Recently the focus expanded to include new choral works by young composers from other parts of the world. The aim is to bring new and interesting works to the choral community.
Our catalogue is still fairly modest but now approaches about 130 works in a variety of voicings and levels of difficulty produced by an fascinating blend of composers, most quite young, some more experienced. Some works and arrangements are fairly simple, some an interesting challenge to a good church or community choir and some require superior technical and musical skills. All works (except two and a few that had been self-published by the composer) have never been published before. Taken together they comprise a novel, eclectic and different body of works. About 30 per cent of the works in the catalogue have a good music recording of the whole piece in addition to several pages of the music sample. The others, alas no- for the time being only a MIDI file is on offer. We hope your choir finds something of interest at their level. You may contact us should you wish to examine a score in more detail.
A key goal of Renforth Music is to publish music with lyrics and poetry of high quality. In addition to the timeless beauty of sacred words you will find music that sets words by such poets as Christina Rossetti (AsI Remember Now / Warren,) Giacomo Leopardi (Alla Luna / Gibson,) Mary Coleridge (The Blue Bird / Hazzard,) Charles GD Roberts (Along the Shore / R Kidd,) and Bliss Carman (Songs of the Sea / Cooper) as well as some lovely words by the composers themselves.
Renforth Music is interested in reviewing new music from composers that meets the dual criteria of quality and potential marketability. If you have pieces that fit these criteria please submit to renforthmusic@rogers.com in pdf format.
